![]() Sophomore: This school is way better than anyone could expect, not only the academic level is outstanding but students receive special help from teachers and faculty. I highly recommend Orme to those that may be looking for more out of their HS years- even if you currently live locally. I would say don't let the rustic nature & remote location fool you. The smaller class setting & unique opportunities as a high school experience we otherwise wouldn't have in a local large public high school. A+ academics, sports, the arts, horsemanship, etc. Emotional growth came from living on campus. The staff become family & have been most helpful in communicating & sharing experiences. We appreciate that our student loves the international aspect with new friends from around the world. Orme campus is rich in culture & history. However, it didn't take much convincing to see that this is an exceptional place for an academic student that is interested in global cultures & seeks adventure with purpose in mind. Parent: A private college prep school was not on our radar as parents initially. Catalina though small, holds a huge piece of my heart. Catalina rests at the foothills of a beautiful mountain range, you can watch monsoon storms roll over the mountain tops, and the sunsets are to die for. ![]() When I was a child the closest grocery store was 30 minutes away that is changed now in this town is developing into something beautiful. Growing up here you would literally see people ride their horses to the corner market, you don't really see that anymore and I just something that I miss. Catalina as a town just big enough that not everybody knows your name, but just small enough that if you ever needed help somebody would be there. This is the town that my children have grown up in and have gone to school in and now as adults choose to live here themselves. ![]() It's one of those towns that you see in the movies that literally have 1 stoplight or at least used to is begin to grow now and flourish into quite the city. With that said, all places have their pros and cons, but Sedona will always hold a special place in mine and many people's hearts because of its unique natural properties and attributes that remain hard to compare to others'. However, I do always appreciate the convenience of being surrounded by more services when I go out and about in other larger towns and cities, where there are more options of things to do. Since this town is more a national park than a city, it is more limited to resources, but still there is enough to cover living situations. By going from one location to another around town, you can truly experience a whole opposite scenery. I love the wide range of outdoor settings Sedona offers, such as the mountains, dry desert, forests and creeks. Each person who resides here lives a different life from another, with a common similarity of being surrounded by the beauty of nature.
